The nation hasn't been performing great on the record delivered by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network since it started slipping from 111th, which was recent highest in 2013. The country's chronic unhappiness is a consequence of many elements: fast urbanization and blockage in urban communities, worries about food security and water security, increasing expenses of medical services, women's safety, and environmental pollution, which itself is connected to poor mental prosperity. Additionally, we see that individuals are gradually and continuously detailing an expansion in negative emotions. India represents 17.8 per cent of all announced suicide cases. During the pandemic, post the imposition of the lockdown, many patients are facing severe mental conditions. The mental disturbance people experienced during the initial weeks of the lockdown, and the trauma of the event are being felt even today. Our country is already working pretty well on fighting against this widespread disease, similarly, we need to focus on the mental health and happiness of the people as well because the healthier and the happier we are the more productive we can be. We will strive together to make India a happier, safe and healthier place.  The report comes amidst the ongoing of Ukraine-Russia crisis. “We found during 2021 remarkable worldwide growth in all three acts of kindness monitored in the Gallup World Poll. Helping strangers, volunteering, and donations in 2021 were strongly up in every part of the world, reaching levels almost 25 per cent above their pre-pandemic prevalence,” noted co-author John Helliwell. The goal of the report is to identify key determinants of well-being. This information is expected to help countries craft policies aimed at achieving happier societies. Over the years, happiness has become a key metric to track for not just countries but corporates as well. Several progressive workplaces, including Google, Amazon and Airbnb, have appointed Chief Happiness Officers.

Raj Nayak, Founder of happiness. me and House of Cheer Networks, said, “There is overwhelming evidence that shows when people are happy in an organisation, their health is better, the attrition levels are lower, involvement level is higher there is more connectedness and better collaboration, people are more creative and highly productive, all of which has a direct bearing on the company’s bottom line,” he added.
